Why I Hate 'Something'
What? No it’s not a critical attack on the Lennon McCartney song (if you have not heard of them they were in a band called the Beatles)

It’s a comment about what used to happen in our church thankfully many years ago and what still happens in some places today. Picture the scene, the deaconate, the PCC the Elders or whoever meets to discuss the forthcoming meetings. “Right, now there will be a seminar at 10.00 and the evangelist is coming at 12.00 etc etc. Oh and we must have “something” for the children. Get the picture?
OK so I am prejudiced having worked with children since 1973 but I can assure you that our attitude is not to have “something” as though it’s second class or just a place where parents can put their children while they do important stuff with the adults.
We are committed to do our best to help children on their own spiritual journey and we believe that they are part of today’s church and tomorrows leaders.
We share, we pray and we have fun but we take it very seriously being charged to nurture the children temporarily in our care.
We don’t have all the answers but if we can help you in any way please ask.

Children’s Pastor
