Alpha Course

alphaThe Alpha course is designed primarily for people who aren't churchgoers but each course is open to everyone who would like to attend. Most courses attract a diverse range of guests of different ages and backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints. Over 7,000 courses are currently running across the UK in rural and urban settings, including every major UK city.

At Chase Family Church each Alpha course is run by a small team of people at a suitable venue which is usually someone's house. It is our opportunity to explain and introduce interested people to the christian faith. There is no pressure on participants to become Christians, to join Chase Family Church or to continue their contact with us to the end of the course or thereafter. It is entirely up to them how they want to proceed in the light of what they have learned and experienced.

Chase Family Church has run over 20 Alpha courses over the years. Each one was different in size of group (anything from 2-12), age, background, race and religion or otherwise of participants. The characteristic most common to all the groups is that the participants are never ready for the course to stop. They make friends with each other and enjoy the openness that gradually develps during the course. Many, though by no means all, decide to become Christians and want to continue meeting with their new found friends. These have joined the church and started coming to our main Sunday morning time of worship as well as one of our mid-week house groups which have a similar dynamic to the Alpha group they have appreciated.
