New Years Day at Chase Family Church
Despite the late night before for many, we had a very good gathering to praise the Lord Jesus. The main hall was full and there were a select few in the small hall. We are very grateful to St Johns Ambulance for allowing use of their car park for the morning.
Mick and Mary Le Baigue were prayed for and Mick spoke on Luke 5 1-11, which records the incident were the disciples had been fishing all night with no success and Jesus tells them to let down their nets once more, but on the other side of the boat. Mick showed an instantly unrecognisable picture of a fish wearing sunglasses and taught us all the phrase “It’s always better to fish at night because fish don’t like the sunlight”. He went on to talk about how an experienced fisherman like Peter realised that all his experience was as nothing when in the presence of Jesus. Peter also knew that this was a miracle and Jesus didn’t argue when Peter said “I am a sinful man” he just accepted him and gave him a job !
Praising the Lord Jesus together is a wonderful way to start a new year
