Chase party

The party started with a bang as Pippa led some wild children’s games and some adults watched while others started on one of the quizzes. One quiz was pictures of famous people and the other, fiendish questions designed to catch everyone out like “how long was the 100years war?” The bring and share food was delicious and washed down with excellent mulled wine. There was a whodunnit with a star cast and of course a visit from Santa himself who managed to park his sleigh! Thanks to all those who helped

Candles by Candlelight

The hall looked fantastic with the dimmed lighting and candles all over the place even up on the speakers. There were mirrors to enhance the effect and lanterns and decorations everywhere. Martin and team did a fantastic job. Over a 100 people enjoyed the carols and the readings plus a couple of brilliant parable type sketches. Ken gave a short message about the wise men being wise because they looked for Jesus. There were many visitors including some residents and a couple of the builders who worked on the hall. Afterwards there was an opportunity to chat over mulled wine and a mince pie. Thank you again to all those who helped from car park to kitchen, from acting to greeting.

Sunday morning carol service

Two children had a race to dress up. One as a baby and one as a king. It was clear who was who or was it?
We learned that the wise men who travelled a very long way saw the baby and knew that he was a king !
A bit different to a normal Sunday morning especially singing carols in different languages
