Sunday Summer Madness

Martin teaching the Sunday Summer Madness songWell, we’re half way through the school holidays and Sunday Summer Madness is in full swing! SSM is the time when the regular Launch Pad leaders have a well earned break and people from church volunteer to do one or more Sundays. All age groups, from toddlers to about school year 7 come together, so it’s rather challenging! So far, Mick and Mary, Caroline and Bethany, Martin and Rebecca have run a session (Caroline & Bethany have done two!!).

GamesTo give you a flavour of what’s been happening, today they started with a few songs (Martin taught the children the Sunday Summer Madness song he wrote when SSM first started). Then they played a game of Hallelujah, which is basically Bingo but using verses from the Bible instead of numbers. Rebecca told the story of the Good Samaritan and the children used their brilliant acting skills to act out the story. This was followe dby a  word search based on the story, and colouring for the youngest.  We finished with a song and a prayer. Hopefully everyone had lots of fun and learnt something about Jesus. If you feel that you could help out next year then speak to Mick or Mary.
