Untold Stories of Missionary Yoo

Byung Kook Yoo is a Korean brother who, together with his wife, BoIn, received and followed a call to West Africa, where they served faithfully for some years before being re-routed back to their homeland in response to a new and very different calling. There are four parts to the book, and numerous chapters, often with compelling titles which range from the comical (“Mango Mayhem!) to the challenging (“Whatever Happened to my Compassion?”). Here are great insights into an honest soul and I would say there is much to identify with in the human heart, whether you are a missions worker or not! “Leather sofa” brings us all to the realisation that maybe we are still too bothered about what others think of us, whilst “Missionary in a Suit” is a great tale about the need for us to learn to laugh at ourselves. Thanks to the very short, pithy chapters, this is a great book to be able to pick up in a few spare moments and then put down – only to find that you are looking forward to picking it up again. To sum up, I found this book highly enjoyable and hope I can one day meet the author!
